Email reaches the people who build SquareTally. There is no ticket queue and no tier one — you are writing to the person who can fix it.
support@squaretally.comWhat to include
- The project name in SquareTally, and the room if it concerns one room.
- For anything about a number: the sheet you calibrated on and the dimension you typed.
- For anything about QuickBooks: the estimate number, if one was created.
- A screenshot beats a description. Redact the client's name if you would rather.
The questions we get most
How do I connect SquareTally to QuickBooks Online?
Open any project and use the Connect to QuickBooks button. Intuit's own authorization screen asks which company to grant access to. You need to be an admin on that QuickBooks company to authorize an app. One connection covers every project in your account.
The square footage looks wrong. What should I check?
Almost always the scale. Recalibrate by clicking the two ends of a dimension printed on that same sheet, and check the figure you typed matches the dimension exactly, inches included. Each sheet in a plan set can be drawn at its own scale, so calibrate per sheet rather than once for the whole PDF.
How do I change the waste percentage for a laying style?
Settings, then the laying styles list. Each style carries its own percentage — the common defaults are 10% for straight or plank layouts and 20% for herringbone. Ordered quantity is the measured square footage multiplied by one plus that factor, rounded up. Changing a style changes every estimate you draft from then on.
Can SquareTally send an estimate to my client?
No. Everything SquareTally writes to QuickBooks is a draft. You review it in QuickBooks and send it yourself. Nothing in the product emails your clients.
How do I disconnect QuickBooks?
From any project page, or from the Apps list inside QuickBooks itself. Either way our access is revoked immediately and the estimates already in QuickBooks are untouched. See what disconnecting does.
Something failed while drafting an estimate.
Check QuickBooks before you retry. The material estimate is written first and the labor one second, so a failure partway through can leave the material draft in place. Both are drafts, so deleting the stray one in QuickBooks and running again is safe. Send us the project name and roughly when it happened and we can read the logs for that request.
Accounts and access
SquareTally is onboarding flooring dealers a few at a time while the product settles. If your email is not yet enabled, the sign-in screen offers a short form and we answer it ourselves. Sign-in is by emailed link, so there is no password to reset — if a link expires, ask for another.
